Primitivo Notte Rossa 2021

The Primitivo of the Apulian wine reality Notte Rossa is a fruity and fragrant version of this characteristic red grape variety of Salento. This is a label that gives a young, immediate and joyful interpretation. The choice of vinification in steel only allows the typical varietal notes of the grape to be appreciated, especially enhancing it from ripe richness of the grape. Soft and intense, it is a red wine that conquers for its pleasantness of drinking, simple and easy and its extraordinary matchability at the table with the tasty dishes of Apulian cuisine.

Primitivo is the symbolic wine of the land of Salento, and this atypical version, marked by easy-drinking and freshness, is produced by the Notte Rossa reality from vineyards managed under organic farming, using only sulfur and copper in treatments to counteract downy mildew and oidium. The vines are planted as bush-trained trees on the characteristic red earths of the Salento area, consisting mainly of sands, clays and limestone. The hot, dry Mediterranean climate is mitigated by sea breezes and allows the grapes to ripen optimally. This is a region particularly suited to the cultivation of red grapes, which, thanks to long sunny days and suitable soils, ripen perfectly, with rich and intense aromatic profiles.

Primitivo Notte Rossa is a red wine from Puglia, which expresses very well the great tradition of the Salento area in the production of labels with a pleasantly fruity taste. At the end of the harvest, the bunches are destemmed and the grapes started for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 °C, with a short maceration on the skins. It rests a few months in steel tanks before being bottled. In the glass it is ruby red in color with purple highlights. The nose expresses a bouquet characterized by fresh aromas of ripe fruit, cherries, black cherries, red punch and delicate spicy hints. The sip is exuberant and fruity, with a juicy character and light tannic texture. The finish is harmonious, with a return on pleasant fruity notes.
