Sacrisassi Rosso Le Due Terre 2022
ArtisanalThe Sacrisassi Rosso expresses the essence of the Colli Orientali del Friuli with elegance and complexity. It is a red wine from indigenous grapes aged for 22 months in barrique. Aromas of herbs, spices, cinchona, leather, and sweet spices animate a vibrant, soft, and velvety sip, with great persistence.
The Sacrisassi Rosso from Le Due Terre is a red wine of great personality and evocative power, a complex expression of the Colli Orientali Friulani. Flavio and Silvana are life partners, and their personal union extends to the winemaking realm, having decided to cultivate 5 hectares in Prepotto with the 'simple' idea of bottling territorial expressions that respect the land. To pursue this goal, human intervention is limited to necessary practices, leaving nothing to chance, and always achieving liquids characterized by personality but great stylistic precision. The grape varieties are, of course, those of the territory such as Schioppettino, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Friulano, and Ribolla, cultivated without the use of chemical or synthetic substances, thus able to express their potential to the fullest. An essential reality in the cellar of every enthusiast.
The Sacrisassi Rosso is obtained from an almost equal blend of Schioppettino and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, sourced from vineyards located in Prepotto. As already mentioned, the approach to the vineyard and in the cellar is aimed at preserving the natural expressiveness of grape, territory, and vintage; therefore, if no herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals are used in the vineyard, in the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentations are carried out, and in the case of this red, it is aged for 22 months in barrique.
The Sacrisassi Rosso wine presents itself in the glass with a lively and compact ruby color. A colorful and defined nose, with clear hints of black pepper, wild herbs, cinchona, chocolate, and rhubarb. The ''dark'' and deep richness outlined by the olfactory impact is reflected in a cohesive and fleshy sip, characterized by velvety texture. It is not a wine that lacks drinkability, as the bottle tends to finish rather quickly, especially when paired with succulent meat dishes.
