Rosé 'Lotos Flos' Bajaj 2021

Bajaj's Rosé "Lotos Flos" is a rosé with good structure and aromatic persistence, characterised by rich, pulpy fruit and a fresh, satisfying sip. It is an interpretation of this type of wine with a typically gastronomic character, far from the Provençal reference models, which focus on rosés with a very pale colour and a bouquet that plays on subtle floral subtleties and clear citrus freshness. The wine offers a crisp, fragrant and pleasantly long sip. An unconventional rosé that highlights the value of a great terroir and its main grape variety.

Rosé 'Lotos Flos' was born in the lands of the Roero. The Bajaj estate is in fact located near Monteu Roero, in an area highly suited for viticulture. The temperate and ventilated climate and the beautiful hillside exposures guarantee excellent ripening. From a geological point of view, the soils are more recent than those of the neighbouring Langhe and are mainly composed of sand of marine origin, rich in fossils. It is precisely these characteristics that make them suitable for the cultivation of both white and red grape varieties, which express themselves with a particular finesse, very suitable for producing rosé. The Nebbiolo grapes are softly pressed with brief contact with the skins to extract the must flower. Vinification is white, with spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts. Before bottling, the wine matures a few months in steel.

Rosé 'Lotos Flos' by Bajaj is a winning bet. The winery has succeeded in creating a modern rosé that skilfully combines elegance and aromatic richness. It is a perfect bottle to bring to the table with a platter of savoury cold cuts, with a slice of grilled salmon or with a crustacean guazzetto with tomato sauce. In the glass it seduces with a brilliant light pink colour. The bouquet expresses aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, pomegranate, delicate floral and herbal hints. Medium-bodied, it is harmonious on the palate, offering a fragrant and persistent fruit, which stretches towards a finish of good persistence and expressive freshness.
