CABERNET PETIT VERDOT INTIPALKA 2020 DESCRIPTION

Intipalka's Cabernet Petit Verdot is born in Peru, specifically in the district of Santiago, at the foot of the marvellous Andes Mountains. The winery was founded in 2008 and over the years has continually evolved, achieving extraordinary goals. The philosophy behind the work has been to create a strong identity for Peruvian wine, enhancing the territorial characteristics and potential of the indigenous grape varieties. This is combined with the valorisation of traditional customs, traditions and the symbolism of the place, the latter also present on the wine labels: "intipalka" in Peruvian means "valley of the sun", that sun being the winery's symbol.

The vineyards of the Cabernet Petit Verdot by Intipalka grow in a special microclimate, characterised by a significant temperature variation between day and night; also important are the influences of the Pacific Ocean breezes that moderate temperatures during the summer. The altitude is about 500 metres above sea level and the soil is characterised by the presence of magmatic rocks, slate and limestone for final products with a strong character; thanks to the alteration of the compactness of the soil, the roots absorb minerals, water and other nutrients so that the plants grow luxuriantly. Harvesting is conducted manually; in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation occurs and the wine is aged in second-passage oak barrels for 6 months.

The Cabernet Petit Verdot by Intipalka has an intense ruby red with brilliant reflections. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of ripe black berries such as blackberry and blueberry and hints of spices such as cloves, vanilla and freshly roasted coffee bean; the palate is balanced, elegant and enveloping with an important presence of tannins well balanced on the drink and a long, pleasant finish. Recommended with red meat cooked according to traditional recipes and grilled; also interesting with first courses with elaborate sauces and game. Also pleasant with mature cow's milk cheeses. Perfect for the family holiday table, to share together an ambassador product of the rare and authentic flavours of the Peruvian land.
