SAUVIGNON TOROS 2022 DESCRIPTION

Toros' Sauvignon is a wine produced in the wonderful territory of Collio Goriziano, one of the most vocated areas of our peninsula for the cultivation of white berried varieties. The vineyards of the Toros estate are located in the hilly area near Cormons, particularly suitable for the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc. Vinified only in steel, the wine expresses the classic floral, fruity aromas and pleasant aromaticity that has made this French varietal famous throughout the world. It is a mineral and fresh Sauvignon Blanc, giving a great immediacy and pleasantness of drinking.

Toros' Sauvignon wine is the fruit of a small slice of land, located on the border with Slovenia, namely the Collio Goriziano, which enjoys a very special microclimate. It is sheltered by the Julian Alps from the northern winds and open to the gentle Adriatic breezes to the south. Sunny exposures on gentle hillsides allow the grapes to ripen perfectly. The real treasure of the region, however, lies underground: the soils are composed of Flysch of Eocene origin, a sedimentation of marl and sandstone of ancient marine origin, particularly rich in minerals, which Friulians call "ponca." It is in this land that the Toros family cultivates an estate of about ten hectares with Friulano, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc vines. Mineral and fresh wines that reflect the great white wine tradition of Collio.

Toros' white Sauvignon is a Friulano wine that is made from softly pressed grapes followed by fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks and aging for several months in steel tanks before bottling. In the glass it is straw yellow in color with luminous greenish highlights. The bouquet is characterized by aromas reminiscent of floral notes, hints of herbs, medicinal herbs, vegetal nuances of green bell pepper, ripe yellow fruit and tropical fruit. The palate is intense, rich and expressive, with vibrant freshness, closing on persistent and pleasantly savory notes.
