"Kin(g)tanino Fu**ing Red" La Ricolla is a red wine whose name comes from the Genoese dialect Kintanino, meaning the well where producers mixed production scraps until they naturally clarified. Born from Granaccia, Ciliegiolo, and Sangiovese, it is a red that macerates on the skins in steel tanks throughout the spontaneous fermentation period. It makes its way to the palate with crisp aromas of dark-fleshed fruit and hints of underbrush, for a fruity and tasty sip

“Kin(g)tanino Fu**ing Red” made by La Ricolla is a blend that speaks of Liguria, but with one foot, and perhaps more, already across the Lunigiana border: Daniele Parma gives us here a relaxed expression of his territory, a good red made to be enjoyed.

“Kin(g)tanino Fu**ing Red” is the assembly of black grape varieties from La Ricolla. Ciliegiolo and Sangiovese, from vines about 15 years old, come from the first vineyard acquired in chronological order: the Tolceto vineyard is located in the municipality of Nè, at an altitude of around 300 meters on those winding slopes that overlook the narrow valley and the Entella stream flowing south, emptying into the sea between Chiavari and Lavagna. The Granaccia, on the other hand, comes from the latest planting, populated with young vines just over 4 years old, also framed by the panorama of the Gulf of Tigullio. The parcels show soils characterized fundamentally by the presence of silt and sand, resting on a subsoil of granite rock, and extend over a total area of no more than 2 hectares, populated with a planting density of about 5,000 vines per hectare. The harvest takes place with hard work and the manual collection allows a yield of around 50 hectoliters per hectare. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, then continuing the maceration on the skins for the entire duration of spontaneous fermentation, inside steel tanks. After the racking operations, the aging period begins in the same containers, which lasts for 6 months.

“Kin(g)tanino Fu**ing Red” by La Ricolla offers an attractive cherry red color. The nose moves on aromas dominated by fruit, by red and dark pulp, by sour cherry and plum, but with depths that range towards the woody vegetal notes and the earthiness of the underbrush. The tasting reveals its true soul: simple, yet full of character, juicy and fleshy at the same time, a fermented grape juice that is very drinkable and crisp, with a central trail of taut freshness. A tasty red, a worthy companion for picnics and outings, to pair with lunches on the grass and carefree chatter.
