Wines from Trentino
The wines of Trentino South Tyrol are unanimously known as one of the best expressions of Italian winemaking heritage. It is one of the few Italian regions that offers a range of high quality wines, ranging from Classic Method sparkling wines, great mountain whites, intense and elegant reds from areas with a warmer and milder climate, to passito wines. Another typical feature of the Trentino region is the successful cultivation of both interesting native varieties, such as Nosiola, Teroldego and Marzemino, and international varieties that have been present in the region for centuries, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Muller-Thurgau, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. The area, characterised by different altitudes, microclimates and soil composition, offers the ideal conditions for growing numerous varieties and producing wines that are very different from each other, but always marked by excellent quality.
