Château Les Croisille was founded in 1979 in Luzech, in the southwest of France, when Cécile and Bernard Croisille decided to revive an abandoned estate in the Causses of the Lot. With no formal training but driven by deep passion, the two founders faced years of hard work to plant their first vineyards. After an initial period with the Parnac cooperative, they began vinifying independently, experimenting with techniques and expanding the estate. The arrival of their sons Germain and Simon, along with their childhood friend Nicolas, marked a new phase of growth and innovation. Today, the estate is certified organic and biodynamic, and is recognized as one of the most dynamic and sustainable wineries in the Cahors appellation.
At Château Les Croisille, respect for the soil guides every agronomic decision. Natural treatments, continuous observation, and openness to experimentation led to the adoption of organic farming in 2010 and biodynamics in 2022. The vineyards stretch across limestone soils, partly enriched with iron (siderolithic), as well as gravelly terraces of the Lot Valley. Malbec, the region's signature grape, expresses itself here in a range of styles: structured, fresh, fruity, and always deeply rooted in the terroir. Manual harvesting, increasingly practiced on the estate, ensures careful grape selection, while in the cellar each vinification is tailored to highlight the identity of each soil type.
Château Les Croisille produces wines that celebrate the diversity of its terroirs. Among the most representative labels are Le Croizillon, young and fruity; Calcaire, elegant and mineral; Silice, deep and rich; and La Pierre, savory and harmonious. Every bottle is crafted with the aim of expressing authenticity and freshness, showcasing the contemporary face of Cahors.
