Altemasi

A fascinating story of mountain bubbles

Altemasi, or vineyards between 450 and 600 meters above sea level. Behind this prestigious Trento DOC signature is the Consorzio Viticoltori del Trentino, otherwise known as CAVIT, consisting of 10 member wineries, which select the highest elevation soils to produce sparkling fine labels. For more than sixty years, the Consortium has been supporting its members in the production of quality wine through the transmission and enhancement of specialized viticulture, which is best adapted to the difficulties caused by the gradient of the vines, not without the help of technological institutions such as the renowned Istituto Agrario di San Michele All'Adige (Edmund Mach Foundation). Moreover, this systematic scientific research is reflected in the express goal of handing down to future generations an intact and healthy territory, preserving biodiversity and native grape varieties.

Altemasi sparkling wines underscore the deep commitment to sustainability that drives the enhancement of local heritage and tradition through the use of low environmental impact and energy-saving techniques. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, harvested exclusively by hand, grow on soils of fluvio-glacial and volcanic nature and are influenced by different microclimates that are integrated into different landscapes, from the plains of Alto Adige to the peaks of the Brenta, from the mild temperatures of its lakes to the harsher ones of the Dolomites. This gives rise to labels with a unique and multifaceted personality, enriched by bottle re-fermentation and 15 to 36 months resting on the lees.

Altemasi's wines are characterized by the great finesse and elegance of mountain bubbles. The white perlage that dresses the straw yellow of the Brut Riserva "Graal" is a slight prelude to the enveloping hints of citrus, pear and almond released by its complex bouquet, the Brut presents, on the other hand, a fresher and fruitier character of green apple in pleasant balance. The Pas Dosè presents light notes of pan brioche accompanied by the elegant taste of peach and citrus that close in a very fresh long note of almond and vanilla. Excellent and direct representatives of their production areas, the Altemasi labels give us back the unexpected warmth of Trentino-Alto Adige.
