The Amaro Viere Hänte 'Hantak,' which in the Cimbrian language translates just like the adjective bitter, was created in 2020 to exorcise a bitter year. It is a product that respects the essence of Italian liqueur making, in which historical botanicals such as cinchona, rhubarb, artichoke, gentian and rue, a magical plant used to defeat evil spirits such as witches, were used. A delicate yet intense and persistent bitter with citrus and floral aromas, perfect to drink straight or accompanied by an ice cube

and gentian, but also linden, orange, mandarin, chamomile, walnut husk, and dandelion. Unlike most amari on the market, which have very high sugar content, Amaro ‘Hantak’ contains “only” 150-160 grams of sugar per liter, necessary to balance the bitter taste of the botanicals used. The addition of sugars is not so important compared to the type, explained by the use of citrus and flowers, which can naturally soften the expression of this amaro.

Visually, Viere Hante’s Amaro ‘Hantak’ presents a brown color tending towards reddish, with orange reflections. On the nose, aromas full of citrus and sweet flowers emerge, as well as roots, cinchona, and rue. These sensations are found on the palate, where the enveloping warmth, the right sweetness, and the bitter component coexist in harmony, composing a persistent balsamic finish.
