Catarratto '12 Filari' Case Alte 2024

The Catarratto “12 Filari” from Case Alte is a white wine with a strong territorial imprint that captures the interest of its taster. Although it is one of the most widespread grape varieties on the island, the winery produces a version with unique characteristics and the right balance. With its saline imprint, it results in a white wine with great pairing potential.

A winery that is human-sized, working its land with the utmost respect for the environment, adopting what is provided by the regulations of organic farming and pursuing maximum sustainability at every stage of the production process. Obtained from vines located about 500 meters above sea level on sandy-loam soils with a good presence of skeleton. The “12 Filari” is made from a harvest of Catarratto grapes carried out in the early hours of sunlight, which are then sent for alcoholic fermentation, after a one-day decantation, inside steel tanks, where the wine also ages for 6 months on fine lees with weekly batonnage.

The Catarratto wine “12 Filari” colors the glass with a brilliant straw yellow, with some slightly greenish hues. On the nose, it has captivating sensations of Sicilian citrus and mineral notes, followed by floral hints of orange blossom and chamomile, other fruity traits reminiscent of pear and white peach, hay and aromatic herbs, and finishes with a slightly mentholated note. The sip is full, balanced, and rich; on the palate, there is a pleasant freshness, marked by a saline vein that extends with returns that recall the fruity notes previously detected on the nose. Marine sensations and fresh citrus meet pleasantly in this characteristic wine.
