Champagne Nature Grand Cru Magnum Marie Ledru 2006
Rare winesChampagne Nature Grand Cru from the Marie Ledru winery more than just a bubbly can be considered a masterpiece perfect for celebrating the best occasions. It is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes carefully hand-selected and aged for at least 60 months on the lees. The straw yellow color introduces a perlage of great finesse and persistence while the nose enjoys wonderful floral scents. More than a bottle of wine, we want to describe it as an experience
The Champagne Nature Grand Cru crafted by the vigneronne Marie Ledru represents the state of the art of the champenois method, an impeccable example of character and self-awareness. The bottle contains an extract of pure terroir, a highly vocated and celebrated village of the Montagne de Reims, along with the confirmation of the strength and courage that "the Lady of Pinot Noir" has demonstrated over many years of winemaking. The shy and reflective character it shows to the world contrasts excellently with the rigor and experience inherent in its approach to the vineyard and the cellar. If we add to the picture the precise and emotional brushstrokes brought by the noble grape par excellence, here the work can only be defined as a masterpiece: of refermentation, evolution, and tension. A Champagne that sets the rules for a definitive oenological experience.
Marie Noelle Ledru forges her Champagne Nature Grand Cru from a great raw material and an excellent territory. The Pinot Noir grapes come from 5 of the total 6 hectares of vineyards that make up the domaine and that she has inherited from her parents. The reference terroir here is the village of Ambonnay, classified as Grand Cru and celebrated by the most exclusive names of Champagne. The soil in this part of the Grande Montagne de Reims is a nearly pure expression of chalk, covered by a thin layer of clayey soil composed of a blend of marl, sands, and pulverized rocks. The variety of black and white grapes cultivated, in the respective percentages of 85% and 15%, is a constant that is also found in this composition: the Chardonnay comes from the hectare of Bouzy, the southernmost Grand Cru village in the region. No use of wood in the cellar: the personality of the varietals and the terroir is enhanced by a process carried out entirely in steel tanks, finishing with the sparkling process and a resting period on the lees extended for 60 months.
Champagne Nature Grand Cru by Marie Noelle Ledru is a wine of monumental stature, unadorned and without any concessions to indulgent pleasantries: the sip is vertical and taut like a blade of
