The Etna Rosso "Villa Baroni Carranco" is a Sicilian red of elegance, a typical feature of Etna. On the volcano the sub-zones are called 'Contrade', and 'contrada Carranco' has been identified as the ideal place for the collaboration of two important producers such as the Piedmontese Borgogno and the Sicilian Tornatore. In the glass the color is quite light, but notes of great complexity come out to the nose: raspberry, red flowers, mineral sensations of flint and spicy sensations of black pepper. Full-bodied, in the mouth the tannin is persistent but the sip is smooth and silky. It's fine to drink it immediately, but it certainly has evolutionary potential

The Etna Rosso "Villa Baroni" by Palmento Carranco is the result of the meeting between two great protagonists of the Italian wine world. The winery is the result of the collaboration between the Piedmontese brand Borgogno, a great name from the lands of Barolo, and the Tornatore family, which already owns a vast estate on the volcano. From the experience of the Langhe, combined with the knowledge of the volcanic territory, has emerged a red of great elegance, fresh and fragrant, which confirms the continuous growth of Etna wines in the last decade.

“Villa Baroni” is an Etna Rosso that originates on the northern slope of the volcano, always the most suited for the cultivation of indigenous red grape varieties. Palmento Carranco has about 8 hectares with prestigious vineyards, which have an age between 50 and 60 years, cultivated according to the ancient method of alberello, following the principles of sustainable agriculture. The grapes of Nerello Mascalese come from vineyards located at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, in the Carranco district, within the municipal territory of Castiglione di Sicilia. The soils are characterized by ashes, volcanic sands, and lapilli generated by the disintegration of lava rocks from ancient flows. At the end of the harvest, the bunches are sent for fermentation in cement tanks, modernly resuming the tradition of ancient stone palmenti. Before bottling, the wine matures for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The Etna Rosso "Villa Baroni" from the Sicilian winery Palmento Carranco is a splendid expression of the volcanic terroir, interpreted by the emblematic grape variety of the territory. Of a bright ruby color, it expresses an elegant bouquet characterized by aromas of red currant, marasca, raspberry, wild strawberries, aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, delicate spicy nuances, notes of rhubarb, mineral hints of graphite and flint. Smooth and agile on the palate, it has a fine and well-integrated tannic texture with ripe and rich fruit. The sip is harmonious, clear, and essential, with a savory finish and remarkable freshness
