Montevertine 2022
Rare winesMontevertine is a renowned and prestigious red wine from Tuscany made primarily from Sangiovese grapes and aged for 24 months in oak barrels. The bouquet is full and complex, rich in notes of underbrush, red fruit, wild herbs, and spices. The taste is full-bodied, fresh, elegant, and persistent.
The "Montevertine" is the finesse and personality of Chianti Sangiovese, expressed in one of its finest forms. Its success is due, in fact, to its extraordinary qualities of complexity and refinement, which have managed to pay homage to a winery, Montevertine, and to a land, that of Chianti Classico. More precisely, the winery is located in Radda in Chianti, nestled among magical hills painted by vineyards. The sunshine of the Tuscan land translates into a glass of this red wine that, from its land, also brings that magical charm that makes it a unicum not only in Italy but also throughout the rest of the world.
The Red "Montevertine" is obtained from a blend of grapes that follows one of the blends traditionally made for Chianti Classico, namely 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, and 5% Colorino. The grapes come from a vineyard area of 2.5 hectares, defined by rows with southeast and south exposure. The harvest is done manually and, once transported to the winery, the grapes are pressed and transformed into must. This ferments in cement tanks for about twenty days, before proceeding to the maturation phase for about 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
The wine "Montevertine" presents a bright and lively ruby red color. On the nose, the bouquet expresses fruity tones of raspberry, cherry, and currant, followed by spicy notes of juniper, licorice, and a vegetal trace reminiscent of moss and fern. The sip confirms the complex texture, evident in a composed tannin and a full and enveloping body. It is a fresh, balanced wine of great taste. It is hard to give up such a pearl.
