Brut Rosé from Gusbourne winery is a rosé sparkling wine with a bright pale pink colour made in the south-east of England. Delicate, precise and elegant this label gives off hints of small red fruits, delicate notes of pastry and floral aromas
The Spumante Brut Rosé by Gusbourne is produced in an area close to the English Channel overlooking northern France, in West Sussex, England. The winery was founded in 2004 by the passion and shared project of producing high-quality wines that could be enjoyed at the important events of Jon Pollard and Andrew Weeber. The main idea was to give new life to some lands that until then had been used for growing turnips, rapeseed, and beans: about 20 hectares of land began to be fully cultivated with vine plants, leading to the current cultivation of about 60 hectares. The agricultural skills and knowledge acquired in New Zealand led to a winery that uses a traditional method but with an eye on the future.
The Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier grapes of the Spumante Brut Rosé by Gusbourne thrive in climates influenced by breezes from the English Channel with warm, dry summers and rainy winters, which constantly replenish the surrounding waterways and yield lush soils suitable for plant growth. The soil in this area consists of a substantial layer of clay, combined with sandy sediments containing shells from the sea and typical chalk of the South Downs. At the beginning of October, the harvest begins, when the grapes have reached their full ripeness. In the winery, the pressed bunches decant for 36 hours before undergoing fermentation with selected yeasts: a portion of the must ferments in steel tanks, and then a small quantity of red wine aged in wood is added before a second fermentation. It ages in the bottle for about 30 months.
The Spumante Brut Rosé by Gusbourne presents itself in the glass with a delicate pink color and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals aromas of red fruits and floral notes reminiscent of rose; the palate is flooded with creaminess, freshness, and roundness with a pleasantly persistent finish. It is a wine that is pleasantly enjoyed throughout the meal, particularly with delicate fish dishes and fresh cheeses; it also proves interesting with spoon desserts based on summer fruit.spoon desserts based on summer fruit. An excellent product to enjoy for special family occasions or formal aperitifs, savoring in the glass a wine crafted with the utmost attention to detail.
