The Anjou Blanc "Attention Chenin Mechant" from Clos des Treilles is a white wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes, crafted by Nicolas Reau. It appears in the glass with a pale yellow color with golden hues and expresses on the nose notes of lime, ripe pear with details of wildflower honey and intriguing mineral puffs. On the palate, it is crisp and vertical, with good softness well balanced by freshness and pronounced salinity.

The Anjou Blanc “Attention Chenin Mechant” from the Clos des Treilles winery is a light, delicate, and fresh white wine produced in Sainte-Radegonde, in the Loire Valley, France. This label is made from pure Chenin Blanc grapes, an indigenous white grape variety among the most cultivated in the region alongside Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from vineyards located on gentle, lush green hills, characterized by clay-limestone soils, rich in silicon and fossils. The uniqueness of the soils and the microclimate, marked by frequent rains throughout the year and cool, breezy days, contributes to producing wines that are not too full-bodied but rather focused on elegance and minerality. The winery was born from the great passion of Nicolas Reau, who in 1999 decided to leave his job as a jazz pianist to dedicate himself full-time to wine production.

The “Attention Chenin Mechant” Anjou Blanc is produced with carefully selected and hand-picked grapes, generally harvested around mid-September. Thebunches, brought to the winery, are subjected to direct soft pressing to obtain the free-run must, eliminating the skins. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation, which takes place using only indigenous yeasts, in second and third passage barriques, just as malolactic fermentation occurs. After that, the wine is transferred to steel tanks where it remains to age for at least 3 months before being bottled.

The Anjou Blanc “Attention Chenin Mechant” from Clos des Treilles presents itself with a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe white fruit appear, including quince and pear, floral notes of white flowers and chamomile, hints reminiscent of orange peel and ginger, up to slight references of wildflower honey and mineral hints. On the palate, it is clear, vertical, fresh, decisive, and of decent body, characterized by a pronounced mineral and savory note to the extent that it still seems to taste the briny flavor of the sea. This Chenin from Nicolas Reau is a white wine of character and personality, whichinterprets a territory and a grape variety in a faithful and spontaneous manner.
