The "Perdas Longas" from the winery Francesco Cadinu is a pure Cannonau of excellent structure and softness capable of combining power and elegance in a single sip. After a careful selection of the grapes, we move on to winemaking during which only indigenous yeasts are used, concluding with a 14-month aging in chestnut barrels. The color is dark ruby red while the aromas recall ripe red fruit and fine woods. The sip is complex, articulate, soft, enveloping, and long.

The ‘Perdas Longas’ is configured as the red wine of introduction to the territory and style characteristic of the artisanal producer Francesco Cadinu. We are in Mamoiada, in the province of Nuoro, in one of the most vocated wine-growing contexts of Sardinia, where this productive reality nurtures the ancient tradition of the place. Officially founded in 2015, the winery can boast a much older history, evidenced by the presence of over a hundred-year-old vines almost exclusively of Cannonau, the flagship grape of the area. In respect of the land, the agronomic management pursues sustainable agriculture, integrated with biodynamic principles. The name “Perdas Longas”, which means “long stones”, derives from the nickname of one of the old vineyards that provides the grapes for the production of this bottle.

Francesco Cadinu ‘Perdas Longas’ represents a pure expression of Cannonau from vines about 70 years old trained as bush vines. The plants are rooted in decomposing granite soils at an altitude of 650 meters. During the harvestmanual selection is carried out to ensure an accurate selection of the grapes, which are subsequently crushed and fermented in wood thanks to the action of only indigenous yeasts, with malolactic fermentation taking place. The subsequent aging takes place in chestnut barrels for a period of 14 months and continues further in the bottle.

The Sardinian Cannonau ‘Perdas Longas’ by Francesco Cadinu has a dark ruby red hue. Intense and complex is the olfactory baggage, defined by aromas of ripe red-fleshed fruit that blend with perceptions of fine wood. Structured, warm, and articulated sip, with a fine tannic texture that supports the natural softness, in a round and lasting finish. An identity Cannonau that faithfully expresses the terroir from which it descends.
