Chardonnay Tenuta Aquilaia 2024
The Chardonnay from Tenuta Aquilaia is a white wine that is born from the clayey and sandy soils of Maremma Toscana, an essential element for its pronounced minerality. Of a brilliant straw yellow color, this fresh and elegant Chardonnay macerates for at least 12 hours before undergoing alcoholic fermentation; the next step is aging: this takes place partly in French oak barrels and partly in steel, resulting in a full-bodied, savory, and persistent wine, with fruity aromas, especially tropical, floral, and vanilla notes. Ideal to pair with a seafood spaghetti dish or fresh cheeses.
In Scansano, in the heart of Maremma Toscana, the Chardonnay of Tenuta Aquilaia is born, a label with a soft and savory taste that well expresses the varietal and territorial characteristics. This bottle belongs to the ‘Auspici’ line, which includes wines produced from selected grapes, hand-picked and vinified with wood aging to enhance that peculiar combination of territory, vineyard, and human work. Chardonnay is probably the most famous white grape variety in the world, cultivated in every corner of the globe thanks to its extraordinary enological and organoleptic properties. Although it always presents distinctive traits, this variety is able to “read” the territory where it is grown like few others, enhancing the qualities of the soils, microclimate, and environment in which it grows, as well as the winemaking process adopted.
transferred to the winery and subjected to a cold pre-fermentation skin maceration of 12-15 hours, followed by soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation of the free-run must in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The subsequent maturation phase takes place in French oak barriques, where the wine rests for 6 months before the further aging between steel and bottle that precedes its final release on the market.
