The Dolcetto by Roagna is an intense interpretation of this historic Piedmontese grape variety, obtained from old vines from important crus of the Langhe, aged in barrel for 1 year. Ripe red fruit and spices emerge from a structured texture, characterized by a typical and engaging freshness.

The Dolcetto from Roagna is a juicy and agile everyday wine, which aspires to be the favorite companion of the everyday table. A grape variety long underestimated, Dolcetto has an innate gastronomic vocation and a refreshing lightness. The great producers of Langa, to whom the name of Luca Roagna undoubtedly belongs, often prefer it alongside the local cuisine to the imposing Baroli and Barbaresco, appreciating its cleansing nature. Luca's interpretation is one of the most interesting, embodying the classicism that has always characterized the production philosophy of the Roagna family.

The Dolcetto d'Alba comes from pure grapes of the same name located in the Pajè vineyard, a historic vineyard in Barbaresco. Particularly rich in limestone marls, like many of the vineyards in the area, the Pajè gives the Dolcetto an austere depth. The vines are at least 45 years old, and the harvest, which takes place in September, is carried out strictly by hand with a double selection of the grapes. Fermentation occurs in wooden vats and takes place spontaneously, only through the intervention of indigenous yeasts lasting about ten days. The long maceration on the skins, lasting about 3 months, precedes the aging in large wood which lasts for one year.

The Dolcetto wine pours into the glass with its light ruby red hue, edged with violet reflections. The nose delights due to its winey character and lightheartedness, although one can perceive its classic and austere interpretation. Violets, dog rose, crunchy red fruit, in a setting that recalls the harvest and village festivals, where this wine has always been in high demand. A simple and smooth sip, but not trivial, is driven by the exuberance and freshness typical of Dolcetto, which calls to mind a platter of cured meats, or a dish of finanziera to stay local. An indispensable everyday wine.
