“Pietragrande”, produced by Tenuta Margon, is a perfect example of mountain wine. Born from the cool climate of Trentino, it comes from a blend of white grape varieties historically cultivated in the region. With a majority percentage of Chardonnay, which provides structure, fruity richness, and elegance, it is complemented by a small portion of Sauvignon Blanc, Incrocio Manzoni, and Pinot Bianco, which contribute to offering freshness and aromatic complexity. The vinification in steel allows for the preservation of the varietal fragrance of the grapes, presenting an intense, clear, and smooth sip.
The white “Pietragrande” is the latest addition to Tenuta Margon, which became part of the Lunelli family's properties in the 1980s. The acquisition allowed for the addition of a range of prestigious still wines to the production of the famous Ferrari sparkling wines, capable of elegantly interpreting the typical character of Trentino wines. The vineyards of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Incrocio Manzoni, and Pinot Bianco are cultivated in Trentino pergola in the hilly area of Ravina to the southwest of Trento, on sandy soils rich in skeleton, of morainic and alluvial origin. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the fermentation of the must takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, using selected yeasts. The wine matures in steel tanks and completes its aging with 6 months in bottle.
The wine “Pietragrande”, made by Tenuta Margon, is a white that focuses on the ability of international grape varieties to interpret the characteristics of a territory and bring them to the glass with authenticity and fidelity. In appearance, it presents a bright and luminous pale yellow color. The olfactory profile is fragrant and intense, with aromas of white flowers, citrus peel, pear, apple, white peach, vegetal hints of aromatic herbs, and light nuances of tropical fruit. On the palate, it expresses a lively tension, with a savory and smooth sip, characterized by delicate fruit and a finish of vibrant mineral freshness. It is an ideal white to enjoy with appetizers or seafood first courses.
