Thw White Port Leve Seco by Quinta do Monte Xisto is a fortified wine that's perfect for moments of relaxation, both as an aperitif and after a meal. It is a blend of 4 vintages, produced by a 'quinta', or wine cellar, which works according to an organic regime. The nose reveals dried fruit such as figs or almonds and intriguing herbaceous hints reminiscent of black tea. On the palate it is complex, rich, warm and fresh at the same time: drink it slightly chilled!

The Porto Bianco Leve Seco from Quinta do Monte Xisto is configured as a rich and deep fortified wine produced by one of the leading figures in Portuguese oenology: João Nicolau de Almeida. After studying oenology in Dijon and Bordeaux, in 1976 João took over the winemaking direction of the famous Ramos Pinto winery, then led by his uncle José Antonio Ramos Pinto Rosas. In the following years, numerous studies were undertaken and published by João, which strongly contributed to the modernization of the techniques and style of Douro wines. The illustration on the label is taken from a painting by Fernando Nicolau de Almeida, João's father, titled “The Taster”.

Quinta do Monte Xisto Porto Bianco Leve Seco is made from a base of Rabigato (70%), combined with 30% of other traditional white grape varieties Arinto, Viosinho, and Côdega, all grown under certified organic farming on schist soils. This Porto is the result of a blend of four different vintages processed in the same way. Everything starts with the manual harvest of the grapes, followed by 3 days of alcoholic fermentation in cement tanks, after which the mass is pressed and fortified by the addition of brandy. Aging also takes place in cement, and the final result is a Porto Bianco with a light residual sugar.

The color of the Porto Bianco Quinta do Monte Xisto Leve Seco is intense golden yellow. The nose offers broad and intoxicating sensations of white fig, plum, orange peel, black tea, oriental spices, chestnut, and almond. Complex, voluminous, and rather warm on the palate, where the decisive sapidity excellently supports the barely hinted sweetness, anticipating the suave and persistent aromatic epilogue.
