The Riesling Sekt Brut Nature by S.A. Prum is a sparkling wine made from Riesling, born on the steep, slate-rich soils of the Moselle, aged on the lees in the bottle for 24 months. It is very fresh, savory, and mineral, characterized by aromatic notes of yellow fruit, citrus, and crusty bread.

The Riesling Sekt Brut Nature from Weingut S.A. Prum represents an authoritative sparkling version of the famous grape variety from the Moselle. It arises from the new trend that unites various producers in the region, namely the application of the French importation Classic Method, with bottle fermentation and disgorgement, to the quintessential German grape, enhancing its excellent freshness and the saline and mineral profile due to the soils in which it is cultivated.

The Spumante Brut Nature SA Prum is made from Riesling grapes hand-picked during the month of October from 15-year-old vines rooted on the steep slopes of the Moselle and its tributaries Saar and Ruwer, predominantly composed of gray slate. In the ancient underground cellar of the Prum family, whose origins date back to the 12th century, the first fermentation takes place in steel, where the wine rests before being bottled with yeasts and sugars. After bottle fermentation, there follows a period of aging on the lees for 24 months and then, disgorgement without the addition of sugar dosage. The indication of the dosage“Brut Nature” specifies the absence of sugars and, therefore, a distinctly dry and crisp taste profile, while the nomenclature “Deutscher Sekt” simply indicates that it is a German sparkling wine.

The Sekt Riesling Brut Nature is, on the palate, particularly fresh, savory, and elegant. Its aromas evoke citrus and yellow fruits, such as apricots, and are interspersed with mineral breezes from rocks and fragrant hints of yeast and baking. On the palate, it is tense, dry, and extremely fresh, particularly savory, with pleasant saline aromatic nuances. It is an excellent accompaniment to appetizers and fish starters, but also to salmon tartare, seafood, and fried fish or vegetables. It elegantly and personally expresses the most modern and innovative face of the Moselle Valley, one that unites bubbles with the minerality of the terroir!
