SANGIOVESE 'I PAOLI' FIORANO 2023 DESCRIPTION

Sangiovese from the Fiorano winery is a fresh and pleasant red wine produced in Contrada Fiorano in Cossignano, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, Marche region. This label is made from pure Sangiovese grapes sourced from vineyards located on rolling hillsides at about 225 meters above sea level and with different exposures. The vines, which are more than 60 years old, are trained using the spurred cordon method on soils characterized by clay-limestone soils. The winery is a family-owned business owning just over 8 hectares of vineyards cultivated following the dictates prescribed by organic farming, practising green manure and permanent grassing.

Sangiovese di Fiorano is made from carefully selected grapes harvested by hand in late September. First, the clusters undergo destemming and soft crushing in the winery and then alcoholic fermentation takes place, using only native yeasts, in stainless steel containers with maceration on the skins for about 15-18 days. This is followed by racking with pressing of the skins, after which the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation spontaneously and is aged for several months in stainless steel on its fine lees before being bottled and ready for consumption.

Sangiovese di Fiorano shows a bright ruby red colour to the eye. Intense aromas of small red fruits, including cherry and raspberry, floral notes of rose, herbs and hints of Mediterranean scrub appear on the nose. In the mouth, the taste is dynamic, streamlined, vibrant and fruity, characterized by a good sapidity that gives freshness and agile and pleasant tannins. This red from the Fiorano winery is a young, delicate and balanced expression of Sangiovese, with great territorial expressiveness.
