The Peak Nat 'Puntay' is a Sparkling Wine of clean and crisp Quality produced by Erste+Neue. This winery, located in Val d'Adige, creates authentic and experimental wines, masterfully blending tradition and modernity, always aiming for quality. The 'Puntay' in question is characterized by a fruity and balsamic aromatic profile and a fine and persistent perlage that caresses the palate. The hawthorn and sage perceived at the first sip can perfectly pair with simple appetizers or fish main courses.
The Spumante Brut Peak Nat ‘Puntay’ from the Alto Adige winery Erste+Neue is a mountain sparkling wine with a fresh and fragrant character. Born in 1986 from the union of the Erste Kellerei and Neue Kellerei, the cooperative Erste+Neue has established itself in the world with its highly territorial production. The estate is located in Caldaro, one of the most suitable subzones for grape cultivation in all of Alto Adige, where traditional varieties of the area such as Pinot Bianco are worked. The ‘Puntay’ range represents the flagship selection of the winery, crafted from the best grapes vinified according to a precise and delicate approach. The name ‘Peak Nat’ then comes from the distortion of the term “Pet-Nat”, which refers to the bottle-fermented wines, combined with the English word “peak”, meaning “peak”, highlighting the high altitude at which the grapes grow.
Erste+Neue ‘Puntay’ Spumante Brut Peak Nat is made from a single white grape variety grown at highaltitude on calcareous soils of morainic origin. After the harvest, the grapes undergo a gentle whole-cluster pressing, with the must being conveyed to stainless steel tanks for slow alcoholic fermentation after a brief decantation. When the fermentation process is not yet fully completed, the must-wine is bottled to finish fermentation directly in glass, thus creating the sparkle.
Visually, the ‘Puntay’ Spumante Peak Nat Brut from Erste+Neue reveals a straw yellow color with fine bubbles. On the nose, pleasant notes of ripe apple, apricot, hawthorn, sage, butter, and hazelnut are perceived. The sip is clean and balanced, with a crisp freshness further enhanced by the subtle effervescence.
