The Campanian wine reality Feudi di San Gregorio introduces the Classic Method Sparkling Rosé "Dubl Edition", a label with a seductive aromatic profile that evokes sensations of flowers and red fruits. The 'Dubl' project was officially launched in 2004 by the historic winery Feudi di San Gregorio, located in the province of Avellino, with the firm intention of producing a great Classic Method using local grapes, such as Aglianico. For the technical part, the estate relied on the consultancy of Mattia Vezzola and Anselme Selosse, authorities in Franciacorta and Champagne, respectively. The design of the label and bottle of 'Dubl Edition I' is the result of the inspiration of designer Massimo Vignelli, who curated the visual identity of the 'Dubl' brand.
The "Dubl Edition" Feudi di San Gregorio Classic Method Sparkling Rosé comes from red grapes sourced from vineyards with an average age of 15 years. The harvest is done by hand to preserve the integrity of the grapes, which are then transferred to the winery and subjected to a gentle whole cluster pressing. The must is then sent for alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and once ready, the sparkling base is bottled with the addition of tirage syrup for the second fermentation according to the Classic Method. After a lengthy 78 months of aging on the lees, the wine is finally disgorged and dosed to Brut.
The Classic Method Sparkling "Rosé Dubl Edition II" by Feudi di San Gregorio has a coppery pink color with fine and persistent bubbles. The nose offers aromas of pomegranate, currant, pink grapefruit, raspberry, and rose petals combined with mineral hints. Fresh and creamy on the palate, characterized by a prolonged savory persistence on the finish.
