Tequila Blanco Agave Azul Arette is distilled by a small distillery in the heart of the town of Tequila. It is distilled from Werber Blue Agave grown in the fields of the properties surrounding the town. Once cut, the agaves are cooked in large pressure cookers before being ground and fermented in Pot Still stills. On the nose are rich herbaceous hints and a creamy palate. A perfect tquila for use in mixology
The Tequila Blanco Agave Azul from the brand Arette is a bottle that demonstrates the high quality levels that this traditional Mexican distillate can reach. At the base of this label is a selection of only Blue Weber agave, also known as agave azul and scientifically named Agave tequilana. It is a succulent plant native to Mexico that prefers altitudes above 1,500 meters above sea level and sandy soils rich in mineral elements, such as those of the Jalisco plateau. The plant, the only one allowed in tequila production, can reach 2 meters in height and is characterized by its gray-blue color, hence the appellation Azul.
The Tequila Agave Azul Arette Blanco is produced using only Blue Weber agave cultivated in the state of Jalisco on volcanic soil. Once full maturity is reached, a process that can take more than 10 years, the plant is cut to extract the sugary heart, called piña due to its appearance resembling that of pineapple. The piña is then cooked in large pressure pots and is subsequently ground to extract the highly sugary juice contained within, which is then subjected to a double distillation process in discontinuous stills. The distillate is finally diluted with pure water from the springs of the Tequila volcano before bottling, without any wood aging.
The appearance of Arette's Tequila Blanco Agave Azul is crystalline and transparent. The rich aromatic spectrum is defined by pleasant herbaceous notes while on the palate this tequila reveals a soft and enveloping body, almost creamy. A distillate that expresses the purest face of tequila, to be enjoyed neat or used in mixology for the preparation of cocktails with an exotic character.
