The Clynelish 14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a refined and smooth spirit, where a peaty profile accompanies the entire tasting both on the nose and in the mouth, with a light note that is never too invasive. A label that comes from a distillery that, in the Scottish Highlands, has more than two centuries of history, capable of creating products characterized by a strong territorial typicity, just like this 14 Year Old.
The 14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is made by the Clynelish distillery starting from carefully selected raw materials, that barley which is malted and then fermented in “washbacks” – of which 8 are wooden and 2 are steel – and requires a time span of 55 hours. The distillation phase utilizes a total of 6 stills, specifically 3 wash stills and 3 spirit stills. Another fundamentally important ingredient is the water used, which comes from the Clynemilton Burn, a river that flows over mineral rocks. At the end of the processing, once the Single Malt is obtained, the Whisky is transferred into oak barrels for 14 years. After this slow maturation, the product is finally ready to be bottled and put on the market.
The Clynelish Single Malt presents itself to the eye with a golden yellow color, endowed with a particular concentration. The interesting olfactory spectrum envelops the nostrils, characterized by a progression of enveloping notes, where a slight hint of peat mixes with fruity references and hints of sweet spices. Velvety on the palate, characterized by good smoothness despite the important structure of the Whisky, marked by a salty and peaty taste.
