Gin Mermaid - 70cl
Gin Mermaid is an artisanal and ecological distillate, made on the Isle of Wight from 10 different natural botanicals, some of which are harvested locally. Using spring water and through a slow 7-day distillation, we obtain a Gin with a dry and dry flavor, with notes of spices, juniper, citrus and light salty sensations. A truly original packaging that symbolizes, starting also from the name, the little mermaid and is inspired by rock samphire, the sea fennel, also known as the "siren's kiss"
The Mermaid from The Isle of Wight Distillery is a Gin made for the first time in 2014. It is a classic London Dry Gin, characterized by a marine aromatic connotation and a particular attention to the environment. It is born in the splendid setting of the Isle of Wight and perfectly interprets its wild spirit, with a selection of botanicals that mostly belong to the local flora and give the Gin a clear territorial connotation. The juniper, the spicy notes, and the citrus fragrances provide a lively, dry, and pleasantly fresh sip. The attention to the ecosystem is also highlighted by the packaging created without using plastic, with recyclable glass and a natural cork stopper.
The Mermaid Gin is born in a small reality created by two enthusiasts of the spirits world, who decided to embark on a new adventure guided by a green and sustainable vision. The Isle of Wight Distillery is a model company, built according to the principles of the circular economy and respect for the environment. The Gin is produced in small batches, which ensure careful artisanal care in all phases of production. The botanicals have been selected prioritizing the island's flora, with particular attention to environmental sustainability and the ethical aspects of the supplying companies. The base ingredients are: coriander, angelica, licorice root, orris root, Rock samphire (sea fennel), elderflower, grains of paradise, lemon peel, hops, and of course the indispensable juniper berries. The botanicals are infused to gently extract scents and aromas. Distillation takes place using column stills and with absolute attention to the purity and finesse of the Gin.
The Mermaid Gin from The Isle of Wight Distillery synthesizes in a bottle the marine, windy, savory, and brackish atmospheres typical of this legendary island. Its profile recalls the breath of the ocean, the scents of herbs and seaweed, while remaining true to the model of great Gins. It appears transparent and crystalline. On the nose, it is intense and sharp, with aromas reminiscent of lemon zest, herbal notes, hints of brininess, delicately spicy spices, and the balsamic note of juniper berries. On the palate, it is dry and decisive, with an essential and linear sip, delicately nuanced and long. The finish is pleasantly refreshing, savory, and citrusy.
