Gin Rivo is a distillate with balsamic and floral flavors, perfect for mixing into the most traditional cocktails. A product that arises from the careful selection work that unites the labels produced by Antica Distilleria Quaglia, a Piedmontese reality that makes the choice of quality raw materials one of its cornerstones. In this case, the botanicals that build the olfactory profile of this Gin are sought near Lake Como, in the meadows that outline the landscape of this part of Lombardy. A laborious task that requires the right skill, but ultimately guarantees a truly satisfying result.
This Gin Rivo is made by Antica Distilleria Quaglia in Castelnuovo Don Bosco starting from a distillation of various aromatic herbs, handpicked near Lake Como. A true activity of “foraging”, which therefore consists of searching for the different botanicals directly in nature. Among the various ingredients, we recall lemon balm, savory, creeping thyme, and burnet, in addition to of course, juniper. The distillation takes place in small batches, starting from an Italian grain must, to which the various botanical elements are added in infusion.
Gin Rivo, made by Antica Distilleria Quaglia, presents itself in the glass completely colorless, transparent, and crystalline. The nose is dominated by olfactory sensations that range from floral to balsamic, also hinting at touches of juniper and woody nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, energetic, and vigorous, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness and a slightly balsamic taste. A Gin that has received interesting recognition in the main international competitions reserved for distillates, made with passion and typically Italian craftsmanship.
