Peloro Bianco Le Casematte 2024
The Peloro Bianco from Le Casematte is a white wine based on Grillo and Carricante that ages for 8 months in steel. Citrusy, floral, and fruity, with marine and Mediterranean memories. Fresh, savory, and long. Perfect for fish dishes
The Peloro Bianco from Le Casematte is a strongly territorial Sicilian wine. The Mediterranean memories abound in this product, which speaks to us of the island thanks to the continuous iodized and marine flavors that are felt in the mouth and nose, where we also find hints of the vegetation and memories of flowers. A label born from a blend of indigenous grapes that is always opened with great pleasure, available only in a few bottles: the opportunity is too tempting to let it slip away.
The Bianco Peloro is a wine signed by the Le Casematte winery that comes from a blend of grape varieties that are strongly representative of the Sicilian wine scene, Grillo and Carricante. These two varieties grow on clayey, sandy, and calcareous soils, positioned about 500 meters above sea level. In the vineyard, organic farming reigns supreme, with treatments kept to a minimum. The harvest is strictly manual in crates, and takes place starting from the second half of September. The must ferments in stainless steel containers, remaining then for 8 months to mature in steel. At the end of this period, the Peloro Bianco is ready to be bottled.
Peloro Bianco develops in the glass with a straw-yellow color. The nose tells the story of the sea of Sicily, with iodized and saline references that gradually give way to fruity sensations and slight floral hints. On the palate, it is light-bodied, easy-drinking, and dynamic, with a sip characterized by a savory vein; it finishes with a long aftertaste, marked by a citrusy note. A bottle with a young and fresh soul, eager to be known immediately, but that can still mature quietly for a couple of years: judging by how easy it is to drink, you should make an adequate stock!
