The "Mesdì" once again testifies to the immense potential of Riesling, making its best traits a distinct minerality and carefree drinkability. The white wine produced by the combination of Gerry Scotti and the Giorgi family tells the story of two realities strongly tied to their land of origin and the desire to enhance it. Gerry has never forgotten his homeland, the scents of the fields, and especially his grandfather's vineyard, which brought the family together during the harvest. Hence the desire to return to the origins, and what better way than collaborating with a winery that has been producing wines of extreme quality since 1875? The result is a line of truly surprising everyday wines, always welcoming and ready to drink, perfect combinations of freshness and soft textures. Riesling is no exception, bringing with it a slight residual sugar, which makes the wine even more joyful and welcoming.
The wine "Mesdì" comes from pure Riesling grapes, grown entirely in the Oltrepò Pavese area. The yields per plant are rather contained, in order to create a production more focused on quality than quantity. After sorting and harvesting the grapes, which is done manually, the bunches are taken to the winery to start fermentation. After destemming, the must remains in contact with the skins for a brief maceration, in order to give the liquid more vigor and depth. This is followed by static clarification, and alcoholic fermentation, which takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel containers to preserve freshness and varietal aromas of the grape. After a further brief stop in the same container, the liquid is bottled and put on the market.
The white "Mesdì" appears in the glass with an intense and deep straw-yellow color. Undoubtedly Riesling from the first sniff, which in this version offers the usual mineral profile made of flint bursts, alternating it with ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, where peach stands out. Then floral notes, almost under the surface, outline a very varied picture in its simplicity. The sip, of great
