RIESLING TROCKEN ORTSWEIN DEIDESHEIM WEINGUT REINHARDT 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Riesling Trocken Ortswein Deidesheim from the family-owned Weingut Reinhardt is a dry Riesling from the Palatinate region that is appreciated for its citrusy and floral aromatic profile as well as its excellent balance. The Reinhardt family's wine history began in 1952 with Leander Reinhardt, who purchased the first vineyards near the municipality of Ruppertsberg. However, the marketing of the first bottles under the family name came more than 30 years later, when Stefan joined his father Leander in running the estate and started the modern history of the winery. Today, Lukas and Anna, Stefan's children, are at the helm, the former responsible for the production side and the latter for the commercial and communication side.

The Ortswein Weingut Reinhardt Riesling Trocken Deidesheim originates from only Rhine Riesling grapes grown on a certified organic regime in the Deidesheim area. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately transported to the cellar and gently pressed, with the must thus obtained undergoing spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks using only indigenous yeasts. The subsequent ageing phase of several months also takes place in stainless steel tanks and the wine is finally bottled with a screw cap.

Visually, Weingut Reinhardt's Riesling Ortswein Trocken Deidesheim expresses a soft, brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose reveals intriguing fruity and floral scents of pear, lemon, tangerine, ripe yellow-fleshed fruit and wisteria, enhanced by distinctive notes of dry hay. Potent and balanced the taste, dry and mildly aromatic, with a tantalizing freshness accompanying the entire progression along with a persistent savoury-mineral trail that leaves the palate eager for new tastings.
