Organic and biodynamicTrebbiano d’Abruzzo "Spelt" is an expressive, fresh, and mineral white wine, aged for 4 months on fine lees in steel and then in traditional cement tanks. In just a few years, it has become a benchmark for the region. It opens with notes of citrus, fruit, and aromatic herbs, with mineral hints. On the palate, it is rich and fresh, with savory memories on the finish.
The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Superiore “Spelt” from the La Valentina estate is a white wine territorial and expressive, with a vegetal, fruity, and savory character. First produced in 2010, it quickly distinguished itself among the whites presented by the winery, also due to its excellent quality-price ratio, proving to be endowed from the very beginning with a truly remarkable elegance and sense of place. Starting from the 2017 vintage, its name is printed on the label in gold lettering to celebrate several years of success.
The sense of place is the secret of this Trebbiano Spelt Oro La Valentina, capable of encapsulating all the peculiarities of the Abruzzo territory and Pescara in particular. The strength of the La Valentina estate is certainly in cultivating its vineyards with full respect for nature and the surrounding ecosystem, driven by the certainty that true qualitative improvement must occur in respect of absolute biological balance, season after season. This interpretation of the principal white grape variety of the Abruzzo region is fresh, pleasant, and immediate, yet also endowed with that typical aromatic depth that has made this grape famous worldwide.
The Spelt La Velentina Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Superiore is produced with a philosophy that sets aside the excessive use of chemicals and technology, aiming to favor more traditional and less invasive practices. For this reason, La Valentina has chosen to adhere to sustainable development principles, considering the environment and sustainability as unique factors of competitiveness. Fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, and aging occurs on fine lees in steel and then in cement tanks. To allow its full organoleptic development, this wine is bottled 15 months after harvest, without clarification or filtration and without the use of stabilizing substances. This production methodology is designed to best express the typical characteristics of the Abruzzo grape and to encapsulate in the bottle every detail of the terroir from which it originates.
