Reyter
The Unterhofer family has run the Reyter estate in Bolzano for generations, in what is the last remaining island of Lagrein in the Gries district of the city. A place where authenticity is not a marketing choice but an essential condition: the genuineness of the process can be perceived right from the entrance gate to the estate. The vines, planted several times by their ancestors, have been there for decades, rooted in porphyritic and morainic alluvial soil formed by the Talvera and Isarco rivers, a unique soil that forms the basis of the identity of all Reyter wines.
Since 1996, cultivation has followed certified ecological principles, with herbs and cereals sown as a compensatory symbiosis to the vines, without the use of any fertilisers. Nature dictates the rhythm: each year gives the wines a different character. In the cellar, the work is equally delicate and measured, with the aim of bottling the wine as authentically as possible, without interventions that alter its expression. Organic certifications do not stem from idealism but from a concrete desire to guarantee consumers pure and sincere wine.
Reyter wines are fresh and never opulent, appreciated for their pleasant smoothness and expressive liveliness. Production is limited, represented by a few bottles but numerous labels, obtained from traditional local grape varieties, reflecting the Unterhofer family's love for their land. These are artisanal wines in the truest sense of the word: unfiltered, without additives, with sulphur reduced to a minimum, allowing the alluvial terroir of Gries to speak for itself, sip after sip.
