The Sangiovese di Romagna "S" is a pleasant, fresh, and everyday red wine, vinified only in steel. It has a bouquet of sour cherries, berries, flowers, humus, and underbrush. On the palate, it is smooth, agile, refreshing, fruity, and well-balanced, with pleasant persistence

The Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore "S" from Fattoria Monticino Rosso can be likened to the link between two lands, two territories that together form a paradise of Italian enogastronomy: Emilia-Romagna. Although already in Romagna, the winery finds its origin on the hills that kiss Imola, in the province of Bologna. A black grape variety among the most widespread in Italy, particularly in Tuscany, it also has a great tradition in Romagna, where it indeed appears in a document from 1672 by a notary from Faenza.

The Sangiovese "S" Romagna Superiore from Fattoria Monticino Rosso sees its grapes born in two particular crus of the estate: one, named after the winery, the other called Olmo. The soil, composed of a texture predominantly of red clays, allows for the production of a wine with a fine yet firm structure without ever betraying the nature of Sangiovese. Shortly after the beginning of the second half of September, the harvest begins, strictly manual, and with a careful selection of the grapes. Brought to the winery.these undergo a maceration on the skins for about three weeks at controlled temperature before proceeding to fermentation inside steel tanks. The process concludes with a bottle aging of 3 months.

“S” Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore from Fattoria Monticino Rosso is a wine that aims to convey to our senses the warm and genuine soul of its land and its people. With a ruby color and purple hues, it opens on the nose with a cherry in spirit and a well-ripened blackberry tied together by the finesse and elegance of black pepper and coffee. The timid scent of underbrush and violet betrays the parentage of the grape variety. On the palate the sip is tense yet cheerful integrated by perfectly integrated tannins and fine structure. Of intriguing harmony this Sangiovese is, as suggested by the letter on the label: sincere, straightforward, and cheeky, capable of being a faithful interpreter of a grape variety and a territory of romantic tradition.
