TIMORASSO 'DERTHONA' LA COLOMBERA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Timorasso Derthona produced by La Colombera meets the commitment assumed in recent years by some of the most important wine-growers of the DOC Tortona hills to rediscover the joys of this indigenous variety, which has populated for long time this area with a strong vocation for wine . Since 2000, after a business restructuring, La Colombera decided to focus on Timorasso, self-imposing strict rules in the vineyard and in the winery, in order to obtain high quality labels, respecting every natural equilibrium: the grapes from each vineyard are vinified separately and all the wines are produced exclusively from particularly suited vineyards, with a minimum age of twenty-five years, in order to obtain fruits of great aromatic complexity. Obtained through a slow fermentation and a subsequent refining on the lees, Timorasso Derthona by La Colombera shows in the early years of life a complex aromatic bouquet that indulges on fruity and floral scents, while a strong structure supports the good alcohol content. But only with aging Timorasso shows its particular minerality and the hydrocarbon notes that characterize the grape. Elisa Semino, the company's owner, often suggests to the visitors of the winery to forget, without fear, a few bottles in the cellar properly stored, and taste it after some years: enjoying the taste of a bottle over time will show the great evolution that this big Piedmontese white wine goes through!
