Isole e Olena's 'Collezione Privata' Chardonnay is a Tuscan wine, born from the skilful hands of Paolo De Marchi, who is the son of art, since his family has been involved in the wine business for years and has been able to pass on to him the passion and experience needed to produce wines of unparalleled quality. After finishing his studies in oenology and his work experience in Napa Valley, he decided to undertake a profound change in the family business, renewing the working techniques in the cellar and in the vineyard and adding a range of international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay to the native varieties. Today, the winery is a nationally and internationally renowned, prestigious and authentic ambassador of the potential of the Chianti Classico area.

The vineyards of the Chardonnay "Collezione Privata" of Isole and Olena are surrounded by large wooded areas that make the ecosystem flourishing and rich in biodiversity, ideal for healthy and flourishing plants. The climate is predominantly continental with hot, sunny and sultry summers and cold winters, often affected by snowfall and sudden frosts; the altitude is around 450 metres above sea level and the exposure is ideal so that the sun's rays constantly reach the rows. Human intervention in the vineyard is reasoned and calibrated according to needs, without excessively interfering with the natural growth and development phases of the plants. Harvesting is carried out manually; in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel, followed by a long ageing period in barriques.

The colour of Isole e Olena's 'Collezione Privata' Chardonnay is an intense straw yellow with brilliant reflections. The bouquet of aromas is reminiscent of citrus fruits such as bergamot and lemon, ripe yellow-fleshed fruit such as apple and pear and notes of white flowers such as summer jasmine; on the palate it is intriguing, elegant and enveloping with good freshness and savouriness on the finish for an overall balance that recalls cup after cup. It is recommended with shellfish, molluscs and lightly fried dishes; also ideal with seasonal vegetables and fresh cow's milk cheeses.
