In 1971 Arnaldo Caprai is a successful textile entrepreneur and decided to realize the dream of a lifetime: to produce wine. So he decided to buy forty-five acres near Montefalco and soon realizes the great potential of a vine native to the area, still little known to the general public, the Sagrantino. It will be his son Marco, since 1988, to involve large industry professionals, investing their time and passion to make the company Caprai the pride of their land. The selection of 1993 will bear Marco: a great Sagrantino will be appreciated by wine lovers and the wine cellar Caprai lead to a significant and well-deserved popularity.
