Mezcales Milagrito México

The Mezcales Milagrito distillery that produces the famous Enmascarado mezcal is located in Mexico, in the homeland of this liquor, the region of Oaxaca. Within its walls for centuries the artisan tradition of the family Hernández has flown, having been settled in Santiago Matatlán, they have always used as raw material the native Espadin variety of agave, letting it grow from 7 to 10 years in order to reach the full maturity. The heart of the plant, the piña, is baked in stone ovens and pressed in mills whose driving force comes from the motion of the horses; the juice made from it is, then, distilled twice in copper stills. Don Guillermo Abad Hernandez follows the process, of shorter duration than the one to produce tequila and giving to mezcal a smoker flavor. Next to this flavor, more pronounced in the Enmascarado edition of 54% than in the one of 45%, you can feel even more vegetal notes, guaranteed, in the case of the second type of mezcal, by a dilution prior to the bottling. The name Enmascarado - "Masked Hero" - is a tribute to the Mexican masked wrestler to symbolize the strong flavor of a distillate that represents the Mexican culture from centuries.
