The Timorasso Derthona by Claudio Mariotto is a fundamental chapter in the history of production of Claudio Mariotto, that 90s cultivate this variety of traditional Tortona hills with increasing passion and satisfaction. His winery was founded in 1920 by Bepi, and since then the family business has been passed down from generation to generation, with particular attention to the preservation of the vine stocks original, can give fruits increasingly complex with the progressive aging. The quality of the bottles produced is of an extraordinary level, in compliance with corporate objectives that aim at enhancing the variety traditionally acclimatized in the production area. Contributes to the rediscovery of these resolutions Timorasso vine revived in the early 90s, thanks to the tenacity of some local growers, capable of giving wines from the amazing potential of aromatic, with a structure and a voltage unusual sour most common in whites in Italy, such as to be particularly suitable to the evolution in the bottle and aging. Claudio Mariotto has decided to give priority to the most authentic expression of Timorasso, giving rise to concentrated wines of intense minerality, slowly aged in the cellar to promote a thorough aromatic development, from vineyards with about forty years of age, and with low yields per hectare.
