"Code V" is a Vermentino Toscano with rich and generous aromas, characterized by a pleasant savory and mineral trail. The bouquet expresses hints of exotic fruit, honey and almonds. The taste is savory and intense, fresh and fruity. It closes on almondy notes typical of the grape variety.
Vermentino "Code V" from the Mazzei family's Belguardo Estate is a white wine that originates in the hilly area of the Tuscan Maremma region. The coastal strip and the first hinterland of the Tuscan coast proved particularly suitable for a grape that loves the sunny and very breezy Mediterranean climate. Partial vinification in terracotta dolium, with maceration on the skins, makes the wine particularly rich and complex from an aromatic point of view but without compromising its fragrance and expressive immediacy. The sip captivates with its ripe and generous fruit, which finds a perfect gustatory balance in the savoury vein, accompanying it towards a refreshing finish.
Vermentino "Codice V" is a wine produced by one of the most important names in the Italian wine world. The Mazzei family has been involved in viticulture since the 15th century, and in addition to the historic property of Castello di Fonterutoli in the Chianti Classico area, they own two other estates, one in Sicily near Noto and the other in Maremma. The Bereguardo estate was purchased in the 1990s and covers about 70 hectares, about 30 of which are planted with vines, with both native and international varieties: Vermentino, Sangiovese, Alicante, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The mild, mild climate and soils rich in skeleton and sand have proven perfect for quality viticulture. Good temperature excursions, in fact, allow gradual ripening of the grapes, which accumulate intense aromas. The idea of making a particularly intense and expressive version of Vermentino, which gives an account of the sunny character of the Maremma lands, stems from these environmental conditions.
The white Vermentino "Code V" from the Mazzei family's Belguardo Estate is a wine that originates in the heart of Maremma, in the hills of Grosseto and Montiano. The vines were planted with Vermentino clones originating from Corsica on loose soils of a mainly sandy matrix facing south and southwest. Fermentation takes place in low-temperature steel tanks and for 20 percent of the mass in dolium terracotta with maceration on the skins for 4 months. Before final blending and bottling, the wine rests in steel and terracotta for several months. It has an intense straw yellow colour, with aromas of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, tropical hints, soft sensations of citrus honey, fresh almond and nuances of herbs. The palate has a good structure with a rich, juicy mouthfeel and a fresh, savoury finish.
