"Misco" is the ancient name for the Musone, the river toward which the estate's vineyards slope. Two different crus of the winery are labelled under this name, all Verdicchio from the single vineyard Misco, Tenuta di Tavignano's most prized parcel of this native white grape variety. The winery pays special attention to these wines throughout the entire production process, from operations in the vineyard to interventions in the cellar.

Tenuta di Tavignano Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Misco' is a 100% Verdicchio from the 4 hectares of the Misco plot. The vines, cultivated according to organic farming principles, rest on hilly clay-limestone soils with southeastern exposure. Harvesting is done by hand in boxes with several passes, and the last bunches are picked when slightly overripe. After careful sorting, the whole grapes are gently pressed, and the resulting must is piped into stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation, followed by 12 months of maturation on the fine lees, also in stainless steel.

The nose offers hints of ripe summer fruit, linden and acacia flowers, citrus and anise, surrounded by rich hints of sweet almond. On the palate, it is rich and soft, with a beautiful personality and a juicy freshness that drives the lingering, rhythmic mineral finish.
