Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata Magnum Trediberri 2020
Artisanal
Rare winesTrediberri's Barolo Magnum Rocche dell'Annunziata represents the heart of the winery, full representative of the simple elegance of Barolo from La Morra. It ages for 20 months in wood, acquiring richness and smoothness, which are accompanied by the natural drinkability of Nebbiolo, which gives the wine deep hints of berries, spices and balsamic hints. A wine made to age, patiently, in the cellar, but it can also be drunk immediately to accompany a hearty Piedmontese dinner!
The Barolo ‘Rocche dell’Annunziata’ represents one of the most prestigious and elegant labels of the Trediberri winery in the Langhe, an expression of the homonymous Geographical Additional Mention of the municipality of La Morra. Trediberri has three different parcels within the cru of Rocche dell’Annunziata, a famous and sought-after plot renowned for the floral and spicy finesse of its Barolos. The beautiful illustrations on the labels of Trediberri wines are the work of Pierflavio Gallina, a well-known artist originally from Santo Stefano Belbo who has permanently moved to La Morra.
The ‘Rocche dell’Annunziata’ Barolo Trediberri is made from only Nebbiolo grapes grown on loamy soils composed of bluish calcareous marls. The vines, planted in 1955, 1961, and 1999, are situated at an altitude between 240 and 270 meters above sea level. Following the harvest, the grapes are immediately transferred to the winery for alcoholic fermentation lasting 12-14 days in contact with the skins in cement tanks, followed by 12-15 days of post-fermentation maceration.post-fermentation, for a total maceration period of about 4 weeks. After racking, the liquid is placed in large Garbellotto oak barrels of 25 and 52 hectoliters, containers in which malolactic fermentation and aging of about 20 months take place. The wine then rests for a few months in cement, steel, or fiberglass tanks until bottling, followed by further refinement in glass before its final release on the market.
In the glass, the Barolo ‘Rocche dell’Annunziata’ by Trediberri displays a robe between ruby and garnet. The olfactory profile is painted with broad and deep suggestions of berries, potpourri, tobacco, bay leaf, leather, and various spices. All framed by a dark mineral vein reminiscent of goudron. The enveloping softness and significant structure on the palate are well balanced by the fresh-salty component and the majestic tannins. The persistence of the sensations perceived on the nose is very long.
