'Collina Magica' Tenuta San Marcello 2021

The "Collina Magica" is a Verdicchio of great vitality and pleasantness produced in the heart of Ancona. The San Marcello estate, founded in 2008 by two young Milanese seeking the tranquility of the countryside, has set itself the goal from the beginning of giving a face and an identity to the territory and the two protagonist varieties, Verdicchio and Lacrima. The love of the two young people for this land has translated into great respect for the environment, adopting a sensitive and eco-sustainable approach to enhance the products of this Marche region. In this handful of cultivated hectares (just under 4), Verdicchio is cared for and expressed in different nuances. The Futuro Anteriore is the version that remains in brief contact with the skins and ages only in steel to extract all the varietal component.

The vines of the “Collina Magica” are located a stone's throw from Jesi, near the locality of San Marcello, from which the winery takes its name. The soils on which they rest are clayey and calcareous and the climate is Mediterranean and is influenced by the Adriatic Sea. In the vineyard, preparations based on plants and algae are used to preserve the purity of the territory. In the winery, fermentations are spontaneous thanks to the work of indigenous yeasts and aging takes place in steel for a few months.

The Verdicchio “Collina Magica” takes on a slightly pale and hazy golden color due to the absence of filtration and clarification processes. It reveals a clear and marine aromatic profile, with notes of citrus, white flowers, white fruit, almond, sensations of acacia, and a iodized trail. On the palate it vibrates and pulses freshness, with a smooth and very inviting texture that calls for another sip. Carefreeness and freedom in a liquid that bursts with territoriality!
