Gin Cannabis Sativa
Gin Cannabis Sativa was born in the Netherlands from an artisanal distillation with hemp infusion. It is characterized by an intense, pure and persistent taste, with marked herbaceous and bittering notes, conferred mainly by Cannabis, with spicy accents, sweet touches of vanilla and spicy nuances of cardamom. It does not contain THC, the active ingredient that generates psychotropic effects
The Cannabis Sativa Gin celebrates the splendid city of Amsterdam, the European capital of Cannabis and one of the few countries where it is allowed to use Marijuana for recreational purposes. Of course, to represent the Dutch capital, one could have used the numerous other symbols that characterize it and make it an unmissable destination for tourists, such as the beautiful windmills, the famous crooked houses, the canals, the red-light district, clogs, red tulips, beer, cheese, or Van Gogh, but Dutch Windmill Spirits, a distillery founded by two young entrepreneurs in the heart of the redlight district, chose the famous seven-pointed leaf as its symbol because it is the ingredient that characterizes the flavor of its Gin. In fact, the idea behind the distillery is precisely to introduce a new and original spirit into the crowded market of Dutch cocktails and spirits, starting from an unusual raw material, Cannabis Sativa.
The Cannabis Sativa Gin is born from a infusion with hemp leaves and three other botanicals, such as juniper berries, vanilla, and spicy cardamom.juniper, vanilla, and spicy cardamom. As also stated on the label, the psychotropic effect based on THC, the active ingredient of Marijuana, is not present in the drink, making it legal and ready for consumption.
The Dutch Windmill Spirits Gin presents itself with an almost transparent and pure color, with delicate greenish reflections. The olfactory profile is easily distinguishable where the spicy notes of juniper and cardamom intertwine with sweet nuances of vanilla. Accents of sour citrus and light spicy notes of ginger close the olfactory picture. The bitter and herbal note, given by the infusion with hemp, is the one that emerges the most, accompanying the olfactory baggage and the tasting examination. A Gin that is now the base of several Dutch cocktails, but can also be comfortably sipped neat with a few ice cubes!
