Mezcal Artesanal 'Sierra Cupreata' Don Mateo
Mezcal Artesanal 'Sierra Cupreata' Don Mateo offers a unique sensory experience, carefully created by master mezcalero Emilio Vieyra. This precious distillate comes from semi-selected Cupreata agave, cultivated with passion in the heart of the Michoacan terroir, where agaves grow undisturbed on mountain slopes and are slow roasted to give smoky flavours. Fermented with natural yeasts, distilled in a Philippine still, everything to give you an explosion of authenticity and complexity in every sip.
The Mezcal Artesanal "Sierra Cupreata" by Don Mateo is an interesting bottle that surprises and conquers with the elegance and intensity of its pleasantly fruity and smoky aromas. It is born from the experience of several generations of mescaleros, who, thanks to a deep knowledge of the territory, the characteristics of the local agave, and the ancient production processes, are able to create a label of excellent quality, which falls within the category of great Mezcals that every enthusiast should try.
"Sierra Cupreata" is a high-end Mezcal Artesanal, made by Don Mateo de la Sierra according to the best customs of the territory. For more generations, the distillery has been producing mezcal in the Michoacán area, safeguarding the unique character of the place. The Mezcal is made exclusively from agave plants of the Cupreata variety that are 6-8 years old, 80% of which are wild and 20% cultivated on ancient volcanic soils. The plants are cut to extract only the precious heart, which is then cooked in traditional brick ovens slowly. The pulp of the agave is fermented with indigenous yeasts and the juice undergoes a double distillation process in a still, under the careful control of master mezcalero Emilio Vieyra Rangel. Before being bottled, the mezcal is diluted with pure water.
The Mezcal Artesanal "Sierra Cupreata", produced by Don Mateo, is a label dedicated to great enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the famous Mexican distillate, in search of original and unique territorial interpretations, far from the standardized taste of many labels of the large international brands that dominate the markets. With an absolutely transparent and crystalline appearance, it stands out for aromas of citrus peel, vegetal hints of freshly cut agave, aromas of white-fleshed fruit, and notes of medicinal herbs on a slightly smoky background. The entry on the palate is soft and gentle, warm and rich, with a satisfying and very persistent sip.
