The Sparkling Classic Method 'Charley' from L’Astemia is a creation by Sandra Vezza, the soul of the winery. This bubbly is a special tribute to her son, a bottle that aims to encapsulate a fresh, irreverent, and youthful personality. The label arises from the desire to propose a contemporary Piedmontese bubbly, capable of combining the irony of a modern vision with the meticulous care that the territory historically reserves for its great reds. The company philosophy breaks the molds of the past and proposes a distinctive aesthetic language, where the quality of the product remains the center of every choice. The ‘Charley’ tells the story of a family bond that transforms into wine, to enjoy carefree moments of conviviality.
The Classic Method ‘Charley’ Sparkling Wine is produced from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. The vines benefit from an ideal microclimate that promotes the development of a pronounced acidity and elegant aromas. The harvest is done manually with a rigorous selection of the best fruits directly in the vineyard. The winery reserves for these varieties the same attention it dedicates to the historic rows of Nebbiolo, with the intent to preserve the integrity of the fruit and its territorial expression. The soil contributes to the creation of a solid and very aromatic sparkling base, a fundamental pillar for the subsequent transformation phase.
L’Astemia Sparkling 'Charley' is produced using the Classic Method and remains on the lees in the bottle for at least 30 months. The bouquet is defined through typical pastry notes, combined with the fragrance of white-fleshed fruits like baked apple. On the palate, the foam is voluminous and evanescent, while the sip is dry, fresh, and pleasantly creamy. The sapidity and complexity envelop the palate, contributing to outline an ideal profile for a wine suitable for the whole meal. It pairs successfully with spicy fish dishes of Asian origin, or even with a pizza.
