The Tequila Jalisco Blanco Buen Vato is the world's first tequila sold in a 94 percent recycled paper bottle, with a mission to reduce the ecological footprint as much as possible throughout the production and distribution process, without going to compromise quality. Made with agave matured for eight years from the chalk-rich soil of the Tequila Valley near the town of Amatitá presents a nose with strong aromas of cooked agave, fresh herbaceous notes and cucumber flavors, for a smooth palate with a sweet aftertaste.
The Tequila Blanco Jalisco from the euro-Mexican project Buen Vato is a soft and balanced distillate that is made with an active attention to environmental sustainability. In fact, the production reality of Buen Vato was created by the Swedish company AliasSmith, which has been distributing Mexican distillates in Europe since 2004, with the idea of offering an innovative tequila that fully respects the ecosystem. The company collaborates with the La Santa Rosa distillery in Amatitan, located in the State of Jalisco, promoting fully recyclable packaging and replacing the use of glass for bottles with 94% recycled paper. To emphasize these noble intentions, the name Buen Vato, meaning "good guy", was chosen.
Buen Vato Tequila Blanco Jalisco is made with blue Weber agave grown for 8 long years on the gypsum-rich soils of the Tequila valley, not far from the town of Amatitan, without the use of pesticides. When the plant has reached full maturity, the cutting and harvesting of the heart, called piña, which is then subjected to a slow cooking in an autoclave. Subsequently, the piña is mechanically processed to extract the sugary juice contained within, which undergoes a few days of alcoholic fermentation, excluding any fermentative additives. At this point, the liquid is distilled in pot stills made of steel and directly bottled.
Upon visual examination, the Buen Vato Tequila Blanco Jalisco presents a crystalline appearance. The nose offers intoxicating scents of cooked agave, followed by herbaceous and citrus notes reminiscent of lime and cucumber. The entry on the palate is warm, soft, and medium-bodied, with a sweet aftertaste perfectly balanced with slight bitter sensations.
