The Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky from the Scottish brand Glenfiddich is a scotch whisky of remarkable expressive depth, the result of using a precious Solera reserve. The Glenfiddich brand belongs to the important production company William Grant & Sons, founded in 1887 and still today led by the Grant family, which makes it the largest family-owned producer of scotch whisky. Among the various owned brands, Glenfiddich is undoubtedly one of the most famous and appreciated, linked to the distillery of the same name founded by William Grant in 1886, which became operational the following year.
Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is crafted from pure malted barley processed in the Scottish region of Speyside. The fermentation process of the mashed malt in water takes place in Douglas fir wooden vats and is followed by the distillation of the fermented mash through discontinuous Pot Still stills. The subsequent aging phase lasts for 15 long years and takes place in new oak barrels of French and American oak, ex Bourbon and ex Sherry. Once the long maturation period is over, the precious whisky is finally emptied into a large barrel in which a Solera reserve started in 1998 is kept and never emptied.
The Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Single Malt Scotch Whisky has a golden color with distinctive reddish reflections. The aromatic profile is very intense and generous, described by fruity notes of blackberry and plum that blend with hints of sweet spices like cinnamon and vanilla. All of this is completed by enticing memories of heather honey, ginger, caramel, and marzipan. On the palate, it is rich and warm, bold and enveloping, with a persistent finish that recalls the sweet sensations perceived on the nose.
