Glenfiddich is the most awarded distillery in the world and produces one of the most loved single malts from Speyside: famous for its history and vast collection, it boasts the most important awards conferred in international competitions.
The story of Glenfiddich began in 1886 thanks to the foresight of its founder, William Grant, who step by step, along with his many children, managed to build an increasingly equipped distillery: the first Glenfiddich whisky came out of the stills on Christmas Day in 1887. In the 1920s, when the founder passed away, the Glenfiddich brand was known as far as Australia, thanks to the variety and quality of the single malts produced through small still distillation. The management of the company has remained in the hands of the Grant family over the centuries, who have been able to pass on a valuable artisanal heritage to their descendants, reaching today the fifth generation. The unspoiled location where the distillery stands provides it with excellent raw materials.quality and the importance of the surrounding nature is reflected in the Gaelic name "Glenfiddich", which means "the valley of the deer". The distillery is located in Dufftown, and its pagoda roofs stand out against the green of the Fiddich river valley, where the barley is of the highest quality and the Robbie Dubh spring provides crystal-clear water.
The very history of whisky has been marked by the magnificent insights of William Grant, who first introduced an 8-year-old whisky to the English market. With its most awarded single malts in the world, Glenfiddich is highly appreciated by whisky enthusiasts: produced both with classic methods and through particular processes and finishes, its single malts are unique in the world, aged in Caribbean rum casks, in American bourbon barrels, or in Spanish sherry casks. This Single Malt reaches 23 years of aging in white oak barrels and an additional 6 months in barriques where wines destined to become Champagne are kept. It showcases a deep, mature, complex andrich, with aromas of dried fruit, sweet spices, honey, wood toast, coffee, and cocoa. A true gem for enthusiasts!
